600 tons per day Colombo City Waste to Energy Project in the vicinity of the Meethotamulla waste dump site and now re located to the new waste management zone at Muthurajawela The project is developed specifically for 600 tons of the daily generated waste of the Colombo Municipal Council.Parameters of the project
Quantity of fresh waste disposed of daily : 600 tons
Energy Produced : 11.5 MW per Hour
Energy export : 9.7 MW per hour
Energy sale tariff : Rs 23.10 per kwh
Plants annual operation : 7500 hours
Project development is now at an advanced stage. The 10 MW Power Purchase Agreement with the CEB is already in place .
Construction is expected to commence by end of 2016 Plant commissioning by Mid 2019.
