Who We Are
Earthwatts was incorporated in 2006 for developing biomass based renewable energy projects in Sri Lanka. Renewable energy is a critical element in the global response to climate change, and biomass based renewable energy projects in Sri Lanka provide the benefit of enhanced energy security by way of stable renewable energy supply, lowered greenhouse gas emissions as well as local sustainability benefits such as socio economic improvement to the farmer and village community as well as vastly improved final disposal of household and City waste (MSW). Such energy projects will be eligible to create and trade ‘carbon credits’ in the emerging global carbon market. The Partners of the Company are all Sri Lankans who wish to see waste to energy become a reality and show the way for how waste could be safely and profitably disposed of with no cost to the Municipal Councils
